Books on Testing

Preface

This white paper was written for Sun Microsystems' 2002 JavaOne Java Programmers Conference which took place the week of March 25th, 2002. This 14-page paper takes a first look at what Rational RobotJ 1.0 offers to those looking to automate aspects of Java and HTML application testing.

Note from the Author:
"I am a junky when it comes to software test automation.  I love the tools, the programming, and most importantly, running a successful development project (this sometimes means not using automation, but that's a whole different topic)."

"I get excited when a new tool like RobotJ comes out, especially when it takes full advantage of current technologies. That said, I've only played with the functionality of Rational RobotJ; I've not yet put it to use on a full blown project as I have other tools. Keep in mind that this paper is no more than a first look at some of the capabilities of Rational Software's latest tool. I look forward to writing more about it as I continue to put it through its paces and learn more about its unique ScriptAssure(tm) technology. Thanks to Rational Software for the sneak peek!" — Tom Arnold
